If you are using custom fields for data in Revcast, we recommend that you enable history tracking for the fields in your Salesforce instance. This will allow Revcast to monitor those fields continuously. Please note: this change is not retroactive, but will impact data from the point of enabling the tracking and forward.


Navigate to “Setup”

Log in to Salesforce and click on the “Setup” icon.

Go to the Object Manager

In the Quick Find box, type “Opportunity” and select “Opportunity” under Object Manager.

Enable Field History Tracking

  1. In the Opportunity Object Manager, click on “Fields & Relationships”.

  2. Find your custom field for which you’d like to enable tracking in the list of fields. Check the box for each custom field you’d like to track. Then…

  3. At the top of the screen, click ”Set Field History Tracking”: Check the box for “Enable Field History Tracking” if it's not already enabled.

  4. Click “Save”.


Verify Field Tracking

This step is recommended, and if we identify data inconsistencies, we may ask you to take this action.

  1. Make a change to the custom field for which you enabled history tracking in the prior step. The goal is to then check that the value is properly tracked by the field tracking.

  2. Run a new report for Opportunity Field History to verify that the change is tracked, showing the old and new values.
